King played a strong innings

Playing at the National Cricket Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada, England won the toss and elected to bowl. Batting first, West Indies scored 176 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. King thoroughly entertained the crowd who had come to cheer on the home team. His power-packed performance saw him hit eight fours and five sixes and score runs at every corner of the ground.

In this match, if King had got more support from the top or middle order batsmen, the Windies could have scored more runs. Powell scored at a better strike rate of 178.57 and destroyed England’s bowling. He hit three fours and five sixes during his best innings. Powell completed his half-century with a six in the ground and was out while trying to hit a six on the very next ball.

England suffered a setback early in the second innings of the match, with captain Jos Buttler giving away his wicket to Akeal Hosein on a personal score of five runs. Will Jacques and Phil Salt added 46 runs for the second wicket but they faced 32 balls for it. After this, both the players were out in quick succession and this put a lot of pressure on the English order. Although Sam Curran scored a brilliant half-century, he could not win the match for his team. Moeen Ali hit some shots in the lower order but it was too late for England and they were bundled out for 166 runs. There are still three more matches left in the series where the English team would like to make a comeback, because their team is looking for a comeback after the defeat in the ODI series.
