What did Jonny Bairstow say?
Jonny Bairstow believes that if India prepares turning wickets for the five-Test series starting later this month, it will reduce the strength of its fast bowling attack. When England toured India in 2021, they suffered a 1-3 defeat on pitches suited for spinners. England’s batsmen were then unable to face the spin balls of Ravichandran Ashwin and Axar Patel. Even today the English team has not been able to forget that defeat.
Bairstow told Sky Sports that India can prepare different types of pitches. Even pitches that don’t have turn. We all have seen how strong his fast bowling has been recently. He said that I am sure that he will produce turning wickets. It cannot be said whether he will take turn from the first day or not, because this will reduce the strength of his fast bowling attack. We all know how strong his fast bowling is. He further said that he does not want to think too much about the challenge of spin bowlers in India. Certainly last time Akshar and Ashwin had performed brilliantly. We forget that our batsmen performed very well in the first Test match. Bairstow spoke only on spin bowlers
