India Vs South Africa 1st Test : Team India’s mission to South Africa is now moving forward. After the T20 and ODI series, the Test series will now begin. The Indian team is preparing for the first test match. Along with this, strategy is also being considered. Captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid are also discussing the playing eleven of the first test. Since the Test series will be a part of the World Test Championship i.e. WTC, no stone will be left unturned in it. There should be no doubt that only India’s best playing eleven will take the field. Meanwhile, before Rohit Sharma himself reveals his playing eleven on the afternoon of 26th December, let us try to understand which are the 11 players who can be seen playing in the first match.

Yashasvi Jaiswal can open the innings with Rohit Sharma

In the first match of the Test series against South Africa, it is believed that Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal can play the responsibility of opening. What to do about Rohit Sharma, whereas Yashasvi Jaiswal had shown his attitude when he made his debut against West Indies. Whereas Shubman Gill himself has agreed to play at number three. All three have been included in the squad by the selection committee of BCCI, hence they are going to be the top 3. If we talk about number four, Virat Kohli is certain to come here. He came to India for some family reasons, but it is believed that soon he will return to South Africa and join his team.

Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul may also get a chance in India’s playing eleven.

After Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer’s number may come. Shreyas Iyer has been in South Africa for a long time. He also missed the last two ODI matches to prepare for the Test. Anyway, Shreyas Iyer has already proved his usefulness in Tests also. Captain Rohit Sharma has two options as a wicketkeeper batsman. KL Rahul and KS Bharat. KS Bharat has got only a few chances from the Test team, but he has not been able to bat as well as was expected. Whereas if you have an experienced player like KL Rahul in your camp then there is no need to think much.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj’s play is almost certain

Talking about bowling options, it is almost certain that Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj will play. Mohammed Shami is out and will not be able to play any Test. In such a situation, the captain and coach will have to select one between Mukesh Kumar and Prasidh Krishna. If Shardul Thakur joins the playing eleven, then you also get batting depth. Although Team India has two spinners in the form of Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, who can also bat, but it will be interesting to see what the nature of the pitch will be. If the pitch is helpful for spinners then both of them can be seen playing together. Don’t be surprised if this decision is taken on the day of the match itself. Overall, either Ashwin or Shardul can be given a chance.

India’s probable playing eleven for the first test against South Africa: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Prasidh Krishna.
