India vs South Africa 1st ODI: The Indian team defeated South Africa by 8 wickets in the first ODI match. With the win, Team India has taken a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. The bowlers and batsmen have performed amazingly for the Indian team. South African captain Aiden Markram won the toss and decided to bat first, which proved wrong. Indian bowlers bowled amazingly in the match.

Indian bowlers did wonders

South Africa’s batsmen succumbed to the brilliant bowling of Indian fast bowlers Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan, due to which the team was bowled out for just 116 runs in 27.3 overs in the first ODI. Arshdeep took five wickets for 37 runs in his quota of 10 overs while Avesh took four wickets for 27 runs in eight overs. Kuldeep Yadav got one success. For South Africa, Andile Phehlukwayo contributed 33 runs and opener Tony de Jorzi contributed 28 runs. Apart from these two players, no South African batsman could perform well.

Arshdeep Singh took five wickets

The young Indian fast bowlers impressed in the absence of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah. The Indian bowlers ensured that most of the South African batsmen did not get a chance to come out of the crease or go on the back foot. During this, both Arshdeep and Avesh had a chance to take hat-trick wickets but they missed it. Arshdeep took four wickets in the powerplay after dismissing Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen without opening the account on consecutive balls in the second over of the innings. He took five wickets in the same match. In front of the excellent bowling of Arshdeep Singh and Avesh Khan, the South African team could not make a big score and after this, Team India easily chased the target.

India won the match by 8 wickets

Team India, which was chasing a small target, did not have a good start. When Ruturaj Gaikwad was out after scoring just 5 runs. But after this Sai Sudarshan scored 55 runs and Shreyas Iyer scored 52 runs. Tilak Verma scored the winning run. Sai Sudarshan made his debut for India in this match. He has been successful in winning everyone’s hearts with his batting in his debut match.
