India strengthened its hold on the second day of the test against Australia, lead till now by 157 runs

The one-match Test series match between the Indian women’s team and the Australian women’s team is being played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While the Indian team’s bowlers were amazing on the first day of the match, the batsmen performed brilliantly on the second day and strengthened India’s hold on the match. At the end of the day’s play, Team India had achieved a lead of 157 runs based on Australia’s first innings score. Team India had scored 376 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in its first innings and now Deepti Sharma was unbeaten on 70 runs while Pooja Vastrakar was unbeaten on 33 runs.

India’s score reached near 200 in the first session

With the start of the second day’s play, the Indian team continued to score runs at a rapid pace in which Smriti Mandhana kept the pressure on the Australian bowlers from one end. A partnership of 50 runs was seen between him and Sneh Rana for the second wicket. Rana returned to the pavilion after playing only 9 runs in this match. After this, at the score of 147, Team India got its third blow in the form of Mandhana who was out after scoring 74 runs in 106 balls. After this, Richa Ghosh and Jemimah Rodriguez did not allow the team to suffer any further setbacks till lunch time. Indian team lost four wickets in the second session

As the second session of play started after lunch, Jemima and Richa continued to keep the score going at a rapid pace while maintaining the run pace. A partnership of more than 100 runs was seen between the two for the fourth wicket. When Richa was out after playing an inning of 52 runs in this match, the Indian team quickly lost 3 more wickets. In which captain Harmanpreet Kaur was out without opening the account, Yastika Bhatia scored one run while Jemimah also returned to the pavilion after scoring 73 runs just before the end of the second session. At tea time, the Indian team’s score was 276 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.

Deepti and Pooja’s partnership put India in a strong position

In the last session of the day, Deepti Sharma and Pooja Vastrakar handled the innings and worked to put Team India in a strong position in this match.
