Mallika Sagar IPL 2024 Auction: The auction date for IPL 2024 is getting closer, accordingly preparations are also gaining momentum. Mallika Sagar can be the auctioneer of IPL
You might not know much about Mallika Sagar, but she has been seen playing this role before also. You will remember that last year when BCCI started the Women’s IPL and the first WPL auction was held, Mallika Sagar hosted it. It is reported that BCCI has asked Mallika Sagar to host the IPL auction, but till now no response has been given from Sagar. That means, if Mallika agrees to this then she will be seen calling the names of the players.
Who is Mallika Sagar?
Mallika is not new to auction. He has a long experience. Mallika was the auctioneer at the Women’s Premier League auction earlier this year. Sagar will be seen playing a role in the WPL 2024 auction in Mumbai on December 9. Sagar is reported to have started his career at Christie’s in 2001 after receiving an art history degree from Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia. Notably she became the first auctioneer of Indian origin and the first woman in that role at Christie’s. Sagar has also overseen the Pro Kabaddi League auction in 2021 and has become the first woman to conduct the auction.
Mallika will also be seen in the role of auctioneer in Women’s IPL
If Mallika Sagar is seen in this IPL auction, it will be the first time that a woman will call the names of players in the IPL auction. However, even before this, Mallika Sagar will be seen calling the names of women players for the Women’s IPL on 9th December. It is possible that within one to two days Mallika may give her approval to BCCI’s proposal. Meanwhile, for the IPL auction 2024, the players are also worried about the maximum number of bids to be placed on their names.
