Bumrah has performed brilliantly in the first 2 test matches of this series and has taken a total of 15 wickets so far. He has now become the number-1 bowler in the Test format also. I am a big fan of his and this is a big achievement for him too. The first fast bowler from India to achieve the number one ranking in all formats. Let us tell you that Bumrah has earlier achieved the number-1 position in ODI and T20 formats also.
This time the Test series is being held at venues which were not part of the World Cup matches.
In his statement, Ravichandran Ashwin also said about the cities selected during this Test series that in the year 2017, we played Australia in Dharamsala, Ranchi, Pune and Bengaluru. Usually, if there is a 4-5 match Test series, it is held in at least one or two big cities. But this time it is happening at places which were not part of the World Cup match. These places are new for most of the Indian players. There are a lot of players in our team who have not played first-class or Test matches in Visakhapatnam. I don’t think this is possible in any other country. But this is possible in India because there are many test sites here. That’s why players are not familiar with their home ground. He may have played IPL, T20 or ODI but playing with the red ball definitely makes a difference.
