Regarding his aggressive stance against Australian leg spinner Tanvir Sangha in this match, Ishaan said that being a left-handed batsman, I was in a good position against the leg spinner. I knew what the wicket was like because I had kept wicket for 20 overs. When you are chasing a target of 209 runs, you have to target a bowler against whom you can play big shots.

In his statement, Ishan Kishan further said that I had talked to captain Suryakumar Yadav and told him that I will play big shots against this bowler. Then wherever he bowls, we have to reduce the difference between runs and the ball. You cannot leave too many runs for the tail batsmen. It will not be easy for him to come straight and play big shots. I had to take risks and I had to believe in myself. We lost two wickets early and the partnership was very important. I also played in the same team with Surya Bhai in IPL so I know how he plays, what shots he can play. When you play against Australia, it is a pressure match. Overall I think we were pretty good.
