So far in the Ranji Trophy 2024 season, one great performance has been seen with bat and ball. One name included in this is that of Tamil Nadu team’s wicketkeeper batsman Narayan Jagadeesan, who played an excellent innings of 321 runs in the match against Chhattisgarh to put his team in a strong position in the match. This is a brilliant performance from Narayan Jagadishan in the second consecutive match, in which he had scored a double century in the last match against Railways. Jagadishan hit 23 fours and 5 sixes during his innings of 321 runs in this match.

No team showed interest in IPL auction

While Narayan Jagadeesan has been continuously performing wonders with his bat in this season of Ranji Trophy, his name was also not included in the shortlisted players for the player auction process for the IPL 2024 season held in December 2023. Let us tell you that Narayan Jagadishan was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders team before the IPL 2024 auction but he was released by the franchise before the auction. By scoring a triple century in this match, Jagadeesan has become the third player from Tamil Nadu to score at least 2 double centuries in a season of Ranji Trophy. Before him, WV Raman had scored 3 double centuries in the 1988–89 Ranji season and 2 double centuries in the 1991–92 Ranji season. Before Narayan, Abhinav Mukund had also achieved the feat of scoring two double centuries in the 2011-12 season.

Tamil Nadu team’s position is strong in the match

Apart from Narayan Jagadeesan’s inning of 321 runs, Baba Indrajit scored 123 runs while Pradosh Paul scored 105 runs for Tamil Nadu, on the basis of which the team declared its first innings by scoring 610 runs at the loss of 4 wickets. Earlier, Chhattisgarh team was limited to only 111 runs in its first innings. At the end of the second day’s play, Chhattisgarh had scored 1 run without any loss.
