A three-match Test series is to be played between Australia and Pakistan. Before this series, many changes were made in the Pakistan team. Many changes have been made in Pakistan from captain to team management. In this series, Wahab Riaz was made the chief selector of Pakistan cricket team. When the Pakistan cricket team was being selected for the Australia tour, Haris Rauf had refused to play the Test series. At that time, Wahab Riaz heavily criticized fast bowler Haris Rauf for opting out of the Australia tour for the Test series. But now he has suddenly come in favor of Haris Rauf.

What did Wahab say?

Wahab Riaz defends the decision to provide NOC to Haris Rauf to play in the ‘Big Bash League’. Wahab had criticized Haris during the announcement of Pakistan’s Test squad last month after he did not make himself available for selection for the three matches in Australia. But speaking to the media on Saturday, Wahab said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has arranged for this NOC so that Haris remains in form for the T20 series in New Zealand.

Due to this reason NOC was given

Wahab said that there is a gap of one and a half months from now till the New Zealand series and during this period Haris is not playing any cricket. His Big Bash contract with Cricket Australia is for only five matches. He said that there will be no cricket for one and a half months and he is a fast bowler so it has to be ensured that his rhythm continues, hence we have given him NOC which is from 07 to 28 December. In this, five matches of Big Bash League will be covered so that he can leave for New Zealand tour with the Pakistani team. This is the reason behind giving NOC. Wahab thus took a ‘U-turn’ from his previous statement in which he had criticized Haris for withdrawing from the Australia tour.
