Australia has taken a 1-0 lead in the series by finishing the first match of the three-match Test series against Pakistan within four days. This match played on the Perth ground was very memorable for Kangaroo team’s off-spinner Nathan Lyon in which he took the 500th wicket of his Test career. Now the current captain of the Australian team, Pat Cummins has made a big prediction about Lyon and has said that by when will he break the record of legendary spinner Shane Warne and overtake him.

Lyon can still play for the next 4 to 5 years

Pat Cummins, while talking about the achievement of Nathan Lyon after the spectacular win in the Perth Test against Pakistan, said that Lyon can still play Test cricket for the next four to five years, so I think he has 40 to 50 years. There is a chance to play more Test matches, in which he will play about 10 matches in a year. In this, even if he takes four to five wickets in a match, he can take at least 200 more wickets and can also cross the mark of 700 Test wickets. Let us tell you that Lyon is the fourth spinner in world cricket who has been successful in taking 500 Test wickets, before him Muttiah Muralitharan, Shane Warne and Anil Kumble have achieved this feat.

Shane Warne has 708 test wickets

Late great leg spinner Shane Warne had taken a total of 708 wickets in 145 matches in his Test career, in which he is second in the list of bowlers taking the most wickets. Meanwhile, Nathan Lyon has so far played 123 matches in his Test career and taken 501 wickets at an average of 30.85. In such a situation, he has to travel 207 more wickets to break Warne’s record.
