Pakistan Cricket Board changed its decision

Azam Khan fine waived off: Pakistan Cricket Board had taken major action against its own country on 27 November 2023. The PCB had accused a player of violating the clothing and equipment rules of the International Cricket Council (ICC). But within 24 hours the Pakistan Cricket Board has changed its decision.

PCB reversed its decision

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completely waived the fine of 50 percent of the match fee imposed on wicketkeeper batsman Azam Khan for using the Palestine flag on his bat during the National T-20 Championship. Azam Khan had refused to remove the Palestine flag sticker from his bat. Azam repeatedly failed to follow the umpire’s instructions during the match. This is a violation of Article 2.4 of the PCB’s Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel. After which PCB took action against him.

PCB issued this statement

PCB has not given any reason for waiving the fine completely. The board also did not provide any information about whether Azam has agreed to remove the sticker from his bat in the upcoming matches or not. The PCB said in a press release that 50 percent of the fine imposed on Azam Khan by the match officials has been reviewed and waived by the Pakistan Cricket Board. The wicketkeeper-batsman of the Karachi Whites team was found guilty of a level-one offense during the National Bank T20 Cup 2023-24 match against Lahore Blues at the Karachi Stadium. Due to this, a fine of 50 percent of the match fee was imposed.

Mohammad Rizwan also did such a thing

According to ICC rules, players and team officials are not allowed to display any kind of display or personal message on their equipment or apparel without permission. This requires prior approval from the PCB Cricket Operations Department. Let us tell you that Azam played his last match for Pakistan only in 2023. Even during the recent World Cup held in India, Pakistan’s wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan had written on X in support of the Palestinian people living in Gaza. However, the ICC did not fine him considering it to be his personal opinion.
