Test Cricket BCCI: Test format is considered to be the toughest format of cricket. A test match lasts for five days and the patience, patience and skill of the players playing here are tested. But after the T20 format came into existence, the Test format started getting ignored among the fans and players. Most players earn money by playing in T20 leagues, but do not play the Test format. But now BCCI can take a big step to promote Test cricket.

BCCI can do this work

Most of the players of the Indian team prefer to play in IPL instead of playing Test format. Now BCCI is considering increasing the test match fees. Indian team’s star wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan is neither included in Team India nor has he been seen playing in domestic cricket till now. He was seen working out and practicing in Baroda.

Ishan Kishan was selected by the Indian selectors for the South Africa tour, but he withdrew his name due to personal reasons. After this the selectors did not select him for the Test series against England. According to the report of Indian Express, the player who participates in every Test series throughout the season will also be given an extra bonus along with the central contract. This will give a boost to Test cricket. If the new fee model is approved then it can be implemented after IPL. The board is also thinking of redrafting the salary structure.

Money is available under four grades

BCCI currently pays Rs 15 lakh as test match fees, Rs 6 lakh for an ODI match and Rs 3 lakh for a T20I match. There are four grades in BCCI’s central contract. Which are divided into A+, A, B and C grades. Players in A+ grade get Rs 7 crore, players in A grade get Rs 5 crore, players in B grade get Rs 3 crore and players in C grade get Rs 1 crore. Earlier in media reports it was said that BCCI has asked all its players to participate in domestic tournaments.
