Paarl Royals have announced the appointment of former New Zealand fast bowler Shane Bond as their new head coach for the 2024 season. In this way, Bond will replace former South African all-rounder JP Duminy in the team. Duminy is currently associated with the national team. Former New Zealand fast bowler Bond helped the Mumbai Indians franchise win four titles in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He was recently roped in by Paarl Royals’ sister franchise Rajasthan Royals in the IPL in a dual role as assistant coach and assistant coach.

Royals Director of Cricket Kumar Sangakkara said that apart from being a fierce competitor on playing days, Shane Bond has performed well in various coaching roles across teams and leagues.
