In the Big Bash League 2023-24, the 34th match of the season will be played between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers. To play in this match, David Warner, part of the Sydney Thunder team, landed directly on the Sydney ground by helicopter just before the start of the match. Till now in cricket, no player had made such a grand entry on the field just before a match, but by doing so, Warner has definitely set a new trend for everyone. The biggest reason behind Warner’s entry in this way was his brother’s wedding, after attending which he left by helicopter to play in this match so that he could reach the stadium before the start of the match.

A video of David Warner’s entry on the field by helicopter has been posted on the official page of BBL. His entry in this has been seen quite spectacularly. Warner, in his statement to Channel 7 after landing on the field, said that this ride was very good. Seeing Sydney from above is a different pleasure, it was quite spectacular. When Warner was asked about his retirement, he said that last week was a very special moment for me on this field. I have said earlier also that the last 18 months have been very wonderful for the team in which we won the World Cup and Test Championship. There are still 2 Test matches to play but I am not too worried about it now.

David Warner had announced his retirement from Test as well as ODI format just before the third match to be played in Sydney after the start of the Test series against Pakistan. He now wants to focus more on playing in T20 format. If we look at Warner’s Test career, he has scored 8786 runs in 112 Tests and 6932 runs in 161 ODI matches. During this period, Warner has scored 26 centuries in Tests and 22 centuries in ODIs.
