Team announced for ICC Under-19 World Cup, these 15 young players got place

The ICC U19 Men’s World Cup 2024 is to be held in South Africa. Sri Lanka was to host the first Under-19 World Cup, but the ICC had dismissed the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. After this the hosting was given to South Africa. This time 16 teams will participate in the Under-19 World Cup, which have been divided into groups of four each. England was the first to announce its team for the Under-19 World Cup 2024. Now Australia has also announced the team for next year’s World Cup.

Had a strong performance in the National Championship also

Australia has included 15 players in the team for the Under-19 World Cup. Most of the players in the Australian team have got a chance, who have performed brilliantly for Australia in the Under-19 National Championship. Sam Konstas was one of the players who played a brilliant inning of 63 runs in the final against Queensland and helped NSW Metro win the title. Kontas was awarded the Player of the Match award for his crucial innings. He already has a Big Bash League contract with Sydney Thunder.

Australian team is in Group C

Aiden O’Connor and Harry Dixon had performed brilliantly in the Under-19 National Championship. Connor scored 208 runs and Dixon scored 222 runs in the tournament. For this reason, both these players have got a chance in the team for the Under-19 World Cup. Dixon is under contract with Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League. Australia has been placed in Group C for the Under-19 World Cup. Apart from Australia, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and Namibia have got place in this group.
