Punjab Kings said this

Punjab Kings have said in their clarification that the media has written about Shashank Singh that Punjab Kings bought him by mistake. Punjab Kings would like to clarify that this player was always included in the list of players on whom we had to bid. The confusion was because there were two players with the same name on the list. We are pleased to have him on board and see him contributing to our success. A Punjab Kings official told PTI that we have selected the right player. We were keeping an eye on him for some time. There is confusion in the news with the 19 year old cricketer of the same name.
