India vs England Test Series: The Indian team had to face defeat by 28 runs in the first test match against England. At one point in this match, Team India had strengthened its position, but after this England made a strong comeback and turned the match in their favour. England gave India a target of 231 runs to win, in response to which the Indian team could score only 202 runs. On the last two days of the test match, no player from Team India was able to perform well. But even after the victory, not a single British bowler could take a wicket in the first test.
This player did not get a single wicket
A total of 40 wickets fell from both the teams in the first test match. Mark Wood has been the only bowler from England who bowled for England in the first Test match and did not take any wicket in both the innings. He bowled 17 overs in the first innings. He bowled 8 overs in the second innings. But their bag remained empty of wickets.
This happened after 74 years
In the year 1952, England had taken all 20 wickets against the Indian team. But then the fast bowlers were not able to take any wicket. Now after 74 years i.e. in the year 2024, England took 20 wickets against India. But all these wickets were taken by the spinners and none of the wickets went to the fast bowlers. In the first Test match, England had played only Mark Wood as a fast bowler and even after the victory, he could not take any wicket against Team India.
England won
England batted first and scored 246 runs. After this, Team India scored 436 runs in the first innings and took a lead of 190 runs. In such a situation, everyone felt that Team India would easily win this match. But after this the England team made a brilliant comeback. Ollie Pope did amazing batting for England in the second innings. He played an innings of 196 runs and hit strokes all over the ground. England gave India a target of 231 runs to win, in response to which Team India could score only 202 runs. Tom Hartley took maximum 7 wickets for England.
