Star batsman Heinrich Klaasen has taken retirement from Test cricket against South Africa. He has surprised everyone by taking this sudden decision. South Africa recently played a Test series against India, which was tied 1-1. After which Dean Elgar retired. Heinrich Klaasen may have retired from Tests, but he will be available for South Africa in white-ball formats.
Played so many matches for South Africa
Heinrich Klaasen made his debut for the South African team in the year 2019. After this he played his last Test match in the year 2023. In these four years, he played only four test matches for the African team, in which he scored only 105 runs with his bat. Klaasen did not get a place in the Test series against India. Kyle Varianne got a chance in his place. Test coach Shukri Conrad said Klaasen was still part of his plans.

Heinrich Klaasen announced his retirement and said, “After a few sleepless nights, I am retiring from red ball cricket.” This is a difficult decision. Test is my favorite format so far. The events that happened on and off the field have made me the cricketer I am today. It has been a great journey and I am happy that I have been able to play for my country. My baggy test cap is the most precious cap I’ve ever owned. Thank you to everyone who played a role in my red-ball career and shaped me into the cricketer I am today.
Performed well in first class cricket
Heinrich Klaasen has scored 1723 runs in 54 ODI matches for South Africa, which includes four centuries. Apart from this, he has scored 722 runs in 43 T20 matches. He is known for fast batting. Apart from this, he has scored 5347 runs in 85 first class matches, in which he has scored 12 centuries and 24 excellent half-centuries.
