Australia’s star player Ashton Turner has been bought by Lucknow Super Giants team for Rs 1 crore in the IPL 2024 auction. But Turner got injured just a day after the IPL auction. This has dealt a big blow to the Lucknow team. Perth Scorchers captain Ashton Turner got injured after bowling the first ball of his spell against Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League match. The injury to his right knee got aggravated while bowling. After this he walked out of the field. He has been troubled by this knee injury for some time. He will be tested in the evening, after which it can be known whether he will be able to bat or not.
Have played IPL before too
31 year old Ashton Turner has played in IPL before also. He has played a total of 4 matches for Rajasthan Royals in IPL. He has scored 192 runs in 9 ODI matches and 110 runs in 19 T20 matches for Australia. Apart from this, he has taken 2 wickets in ODI and 4 wickets in 19 T20 matches.
Lucknow Super Giants bought so many players in the auction
Lucknow Super Giants have bought a total of 6 players in the IPL 2024 auction. The team has showered money on Shivam Mavi. Apart from Mavi, Lucknow has bought M Siddarth, David Willey, Ashton Turner, Arshin Kulkarni and Arshad Khan.
