The first match of the Test series is being played between Australia and Pakistan. During this time, Usman Khwaja has once again come into limelight. The reason for discussion is once again the same war between Israel and Gaza. Let us tell you that recently Usman Khawaja was not allowed to wear shoes carrying the message of All Lives Are Equal. But now when he came out to bat on the first day of the first Test match, he was wearing a black band on his arm. Due to which the matter has once again become heated.

Khwaja’s name in discussion again

The ICC on Wednesday did not allow Khawaja to wear shoes with some messages written on them in reference to Gaza. The shoes that this Pakistani-origin cricketer was wearing during the practice session on Tuesday had messages like All Live Matter written on them. ICC rules do not permit the display of political or religious statements on team apparel or equipment. Khawaja later said that he would follow the rule to avoid individual or team bans but that he would challenge the ICC’s decision.

Khawaja said in a social media post that freedom is a human right and all rights are equal. I will never stop believing in them. Australia won the toss and decided to bat in the Test. Khawaja and fellow Australian opener David Warner appeared on the pitch with Pakistan fielders. Pakistan-born Khawaja is the first Muslim player to play Test cricket for Australia. He wore a black armband to show solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Disappointed with ICC’s decision

Before the match he said in a TV interview that there had been many previous examples of other cricketers being allowed to show support for other things. He said that I found it a little disappointing that he was hard on me and they are not always hard on everyone. Apart from Australia captain Pat Cummins, Khawaja also had the support of the country’s federal treasurer Jim Chalmers.
