Virender Sehwag’s big statement on Yashasvi Jaiswal

Virender Sehwag On Yashasvi Jaiswal: A 5-match test series is being played between India and England. Amidst this series, India’s great opening batsman Virender Sehwag has given a big statement. Virender Sehwag has praised young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal playing in the India-England series. But he has termed it as premature to compare this player with anyone else.

Sehwag’s big statement on Yashasvi Jaiswal

India’s great opening batsman Virender Sehwag has said that Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a double century in the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, is a great batsman but it is too early to make comparisons. Jaiswal is being compared to Sehwag after scoring a double century in the second test. Sehwag said in a virtual conversation with Bhasha from Dubai that he is a very good batsman but I think it is too early to make comparisons.

Said this on playing for club vs country

On the club versus country debate, he said that playing for the country should be the priority of every cricketer. He said that I believe that playing for the country is above playing in any league. Players should decide their priorities. For example, in the ILT20 league, many West Indies players left the league midway and went to play international cricket against Australia. He further said that the temptation for domestic cricketers to play international cricket is understandable but their main aim should be to make a place in the Indian team by performing brilliantly in domestic cricket.

Sehwag also said that by playing IPL or other leagues, players will not face fatigue or fitness related problems in the T20 World Cup to be held in June. He said that I am sure that nothing like this will happen. In fact, I feel that their preparation will be strengthened by playing leagues like IPL or ILT20. There are 14 matches to be played in IPL in two months, so there is plenty of time to maintain form and fitness.
