WTC Points Table: Indian team achieved number-1 crown, Australia’s victory gave a big advantage – India TV Hindi

WTC Points Table: Australia defeated New Zealand by 172 runs in the first test match. With this, the Australian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. The bowlers and batsmen performed amazingly for Australia in the match. Cameron Green presented an excellent example of batting and it was because of him that the Australian team was successful in winning the match. He played an innings of 174 runs in the match. But the Indian team has got a big benefit from Australia’s victory. The Indian team has reached number one in the World Test Championship points table and New Zealand has suffered a loss.

India reached number one

After losing the match against Australia, the New Zealand team has lost one place in the points table of the World Test Championship. New Zealand team has reached second position. The Indian team has achieved the number-1 crown. With the defeat, New Zealand has lost 60 percent points. Indian team has 64.58 points. But even after the victory, the Australian team remains at number three. The team has 59.09 percent marks.

Strong performance against England

The Indian team has played 8 matches so far in the World Test Championship 2023-2025, out of which the team has won five and lost 2 matches. One test match has ended in a draw. Team India is currently playing a five-Test series against England at home. India has already secured an unassailable 3-1 lead in the series. To remain at number one in the WTC points table, Team India will have to win the fifth Test match against England at any cost. On the other hand, the New Zealand team has played 5 matches in WTC 2023-25, out of which the team has won three and lost 2 matches.

New Zealand lost

In the test match against Australia, the New Zealand team decided to bowl first. Which proved wrong. Australia scored 383 runs in the first innings. Cameron Green played an inning of 174 runs for the team. Mitchell Marsh contributed 40 runs. Jos Hazlewood scored 22 runs. The New Zealand team was all out for just 179 runs in the first innings. Australia gave New Zealand a target of 369 runs, in response to which the New Zealand team was all out for 196 runs.
