Two Afghan nationals, officers in the Pakistan Army, were also expelled from the country.

Islamabad: Pakistan on Tuesday revealed that two officer-ranked Afghan nationals serving in the army were among those expelled from the country as part of the ongoing campaign against illegal immigrants. This disclosure has been made at a time when Pakistan Air Force carried out overnight air action against armed groups hiding in the border areas, in which 8 women and children have died. Regarding this, the tension between the two countries has increased again. Pakistan has recently witnessed several terrorist attacks and has openly stated that it suspects the involvement of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), a splinter group of the Afghan Taliban.

‘Terrorists keep trying to infiltrate’

Let us tell you that Pakistan has repeatedly urged the Afghan government to take action against TTP and its associates. On the other hand, Pakistan has started a campaign to deport Afghan people illegally settled in the country from October 31. Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, while talking to a private TV channel, said that there has been no further infiltration from Afghanistan at the government level. However, from time to time there are infiltration attempts by terrorists. According to The Express Tribune newspaper, the Defense Minister said that the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan is open due to geographical structure due to which infiltrators can easily enter Pakistan.

‘Most of TTP’s people live in Afghanistan’

Asif said that due to the open borders, infiltrators can obtain legal documents and even join the Pakistan Army. Asif said, ‘As Defense Minister, I have signed 2 or 3 files in which Afghan recruits were expelled. One of them was a captain and the other was a lieutenant. Referring to the terrorists associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Afghanistan, Asif said that most of the members of the organization live in Afghanistan, while during the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, 3 to 4 thousand terrorists were killed. Was brought to Pakistan for ‘rehabilitation’.

14 lakh Afghan refugees are present in Pakistan

According to an estimate, 17 lakh Afghans live in Pakistan, out of which 14 lakh people have refugee status. Pakistan officials announced a nationwide crackdown against Afghans, saying anyone living without proper documents will have to leave the country by October 31 or they will be arrested. After this announcement by Pakistan, its relations with the Taliban, which is ruling Afghanistan, have turned sour.
