After the Israeli army captured the hospital in Gaza, shifting of the patients trapped there has been started. Gaza’s Health Ministry has made arrangements for premature babies born in the hospital to be treated in another country outside Palestine. After capturing Gaza’s Shifa Hospital, the Israeli army had claimed to provide medicines and treatment equipment to the patients. But during the war, most of the hospital staff fled. Only a few doctors and employees remained in the hospital. In such a situation, the lives of the patients present in the hospital were in danger. The United Nations had expressed threat to the lives of 32 children trapped in the hospital. Meanwhile, Gaza has claimed to have evacuated them safely.

Gaza’s health ministry said an estimated 30 premature babies had been evacuated from Shifa hospital and would be transferred to Egyptian hospitals. Ministry spokesman Madhat Abbas said he was released from the hospital on Sunday. Now he is being shifted to an Egyptian hospital. The World Health Organization team, which visited Shifa Hospital on Saturday, said that 32 children were among the seriously ill patients trapped in the hospital. Israeli soldiers have been deployed outside this hospital since last week. Now the entire Shifa Hospital is under the control of Israeli soldiers.

Israel said – patients left voluntarily

Israel believes there was a voluntary mass departure of patients from the hospital on Saturday. However, the people leaving there called it a forced migration. “We left at gunpoint,” Mahmoud Abu Auf told the AP after leaving the hospital. Tanks and snipers were everywhere inside and outside. Israeli forces detained three people. Apart from northern Gaza, dozens of people were killed in the urban Jabaliya refugee camp. Eyewitnesses believe that people have died in the Israeli attack. It led to a massive attack on the camp’s Fakhora school, said wounded survivors Ahmed Radwan and Yasin Sharif. Radwan told the AP that “the scenes were horrific. Dead bodies of women and children were on the ground. Others were shouting for help. (AP)
