Tension is at its peak between India and Canada over the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Meanwhile, in Canada, another criminal Harpreet Singh has been shot dead by unknown assailants. This has created an uproar in Canada. Canadian Police is investigating the case. Along with Harpreet Singh, his son was also shot by the attackers. He also died in the incident. This incident happened in Edmonton, Canada. Harpreet Singh, who was killed amid increasing gang violence in Canada, was a Sikh of Indian origin. His 11 year old son has also been killed in this.

It is being told that the Sikh killed in the violence, Harpreet Singh Uppal (41), was a notorious figure in the field of organized crime in Canada. Edmonton Police Service Acting Superintendent Colin Derksen told reporters Friday that Uppal and his son were shot to death in broad daylight outside a gas station Thursday afternoon. Uppal’s son’s friend was also in the car at the time of the shooting, but he was not injured in the attack. Dirksen said police did not know whether the attackers knew there were children in the car when they opened fire.

Harpreet’s son was deliberately shot by attackers

“But what we do know is that when the shooter or shooters realized there was (Uppal’s) son in the car, they deliberately shot him,” the Edmonton Journal quoted Dirksen as saying. There was a time when killing children was taboo and gang members avoided crossing this line, but the situation is now changing. Police have not made the name of Uppal’s son public. No one has been arrested yet in this case. According to the news of ‘CBC News’, Uppal was accused of many charges including cocaine possession and smuggling. The hearing in this case started on April 2024. (Language)
