Barack Obama and Rishi Sunak: There was an informal meeting between former US President Barack Obama and British Prime Minister of Indian origin Rishi Sunak. In this regard, a statement was issued by Sunak’s office – 10 Downing Street. According to the report, during the conversation between Sunak and Obama, the issue of Artificial Intelligence i.e. AI also became a topic of discussion. Apart from AI, many other issues were also discussed between the two.
Many international issues were also discussed between Sunak and Obama. According to news agency PTI, this is probably the first time that the two powerful leaders are meeting after Sunak became the Prime Minister. Both the leaders did not answer any questions of the journalists and went inside smiling. Sunak’s spokesman said Obama had come to pay a courtesy visit. Obama, a 62-year-old American Democrat, had reached London for the work of his foundation. According to the statement, apart from AI, many important international issues were also discussed between Sunak and Obama.
It is noteworthy that there was a recent phone conversation between Rishi Sunak and Indian PM Narendra Modi. According to the information, both the leaders welcomed the progress in the ongoing talks for early conclusion of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and Britain. Along with this, both the leaders also discussed many other issues.

PM Modi had also shared information about his conversation with British PM Rishi Sunak on his X handle. PM Modi said he had “good talks with UK PM Rishi Sunak. We expressed our commitment to further strengthen the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership and work for the early conclusion of a mutually beneficial free trade agreement.”
What did Rishi Sunak say?
A statement issued by the British Prime Minister’s Office said that Rishi Sunak and PM Modi agreed on the importance of reaching a historic and comprehensive agreement, which will benefit both countries. According to the statement issued, the two leaders reiterated the importance of the ambitious outcome for bilateral trade, which currently stands at around £36 billion per year.
