A boat full of migrants capsized in the sea off the Turkish coast. Due to this there was an outcry among the people. It is being told that this boat was carrying migrants. It was a rubber dinghy that sank off Turkey’s northern Aegean coast on Friday. At least 16 people died in this accident. The officers provided this information. Governor Ilhami Aktas said Turkish coast guard personnel rescued two migrants from the sea near the town of Essabat in Canakkale province, while two others managed to reach the shore on their own.
He said it was not clear how many people were on board the boat when it sank and the Coast Guard was searching the area. Aktas told the state-run Anadolu agency that four infants and children were among the dead. The nationality of the migrants was not immediately known. Anadolu said ten coast guard boats and two helicopters were involved in the search and rescue operation. Several ambulances have been kept on standby at the nearby port.
A large number of people may be missing
A large number of migrants are feared to be aboard this boat sunk in the sea. However, no number of passengers has been mentioned yet. But officials suspect that the boat sank due to the large number of people on board. Due to excessive load, it got hit by the waves. The search for missing people continues.
