Bravery of the Indian Navy, a warship helped when a merchant ship caught fire – India TV Hindi

Indian Navy: The world has once again seen the bravery of the Indian Navy. According to reports, an Indian warship provided assistance to a merchant ship that caught fire following a suspected drone or missile attack in the Gulf of Aden. Indian military officials said on Saturday that the MV Islander was attacked on Thursday in which a crew member of the ship was injured.

He said a Navy explosive ordnance disposal team went to the ship and rescued it from possible danger. After this the vessel was given permission to proceed further. The attack comes amid growing global concerns over attacks by Houthi militants on various commercial ships in the Red Sea.

A medical team from the Indian Navy also helped

He said a medical team from the Indian Navy also reached ‘MV Islander’ and provided medical aid to the injured crew member. Indian Navy spokesperson Commander Vivek Madhwal said, “The tireless efforts of the Indian Navy ships reaffirm the Indian Navy’s strong commitment to the safety and security of merchant vessels and seafarers.”

Iranian ship was freed from pirates in January

Earlier, at the end of January, the Indian Navy had shown courage and freed an Iranian ship that had been hijacked by pirates. Indian warship INS Sumitra rescued fishermen and 17 crew members from pirates. According to information, Indian Navy’s warship INS Sumitra has rescued people kidnapped by Somali pirates 700 nautical miles west of Kochi in the Arabian Sea. This Iranian ship MV Iman was carrying 17 crew members, who were kidnapped by pirates.
