Case of human trafficking by plane, flight from France carrying 300 passengers flew to Mumbai

A flight carrying over 300 passengers has left France for Mumbai, three days after being detained by French authorities on suspicion of human trafficking. It is expected to land at Mumbai airport after noon today. The plane was grounded in France on suspicion of human trafficking. After this the Indian Foreign Ministry was also informed. Now this aircraft is being brought back to India. There were a total of 303 passengers in it. Most of these passengers are Indians. A source gave this information.

The A340 aircraft, operated by Romania’s Legend Airlines, is expected to land at the Mumbai airport in the afternoon. The source said the plane had taken off from Vatry airport near Paris, where it was grounded. A flight from Dubai in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Nicaragua carrying 303 passengers was stopped on Thursday at Vitry airport, 150 km east of Paris, on suspicion of “human trafficking”. On Sunday, four French judges questioned the detained passengers.

There are 11 minors also on board the plane

The hearings were held as part of an investigation launched by the Paris Prosecutor’s Office on suspicion of human trafficking. According to French media, some passengers were Hindi and some Tamil speaking. After clearing the plane for departure, French judges on Sunday decided to cancel the passengers’ hearing due to irregularities in the procedure. There are 11 minors on board the plane who were not accompanied by anyone else. The detention of two passengers detained since Friday was extended by 48 hours on Saturday evening, according to French prosecutors. (language)
