Ram Mandir Celebration in Thailand: Preparations are being made in full swing for the consecration ceremony of Lord Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. Ramlala’s life will be consecrated in the Ram temple on January 22 as per the scriptures. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm regarding this ceremony not only in the country but also among the people of Hindu community living in many countries around the world. In the South East Asian country Thailand too, there is an atmosphere of celebration for the consecration of Ram temple in Ayodhya. The soil and water of the three rivers here have come to Ayodhya from ‘Ayudhya’ of Thailand. Just like we have Ayodhya here, similarly there is ‘Ayudhya’ in Thailand. There is a celebratory atmosphere here too. Even though Thailand is geographically far away from the land of India, the story of Maryada Purushottam Shri Ram and Ramayana still exists today.

Ayodhya in India and Ayudhya in Thailand… both are similar not only in name, but also in terms of immense devotion and faith towards Lord Ram. The distance between the two cities may be three and a half thousand kilometers, but the faith and belief are the same.

The name ‘Ayudhya’ came from Ayodhya itself.

According to media reports, Swami Vigyanand, founder and global president of Vishva Hindu Sangh (WHF), said that Ayudhya’s name comes from Ayodhya, the birthplace of Lord Ram, which establishes a connection with Hinduism and Ramayana. He said, ‘The first ruler of Ayudhya, King Ramathibodi, had kept this name because of the influence of Ramayana on the culture of the region.’

Soil and water brought from Thailand for Ram temple

Amidst the Ram Mandir Pran Pratistha ceremony, the Ayodhya Temple Trust has received soil from Ayudhya and water from three rivers of Thailand for the Ram temple. These three rivers include Chao Phraya, Lop Buri and Pa Sak. Ayudhya, an ancient city situated on the banks of the Chao Phraya River, is located 70 kilometers north of Bangkok. It is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for its rich and vibrant cultural history.

Life consecration ceremony will be shown on big screen in Bangkok

According to a member of Vishva Hindu Parishad VHP in Bangkok, huge screens are being installed outside Hindu temples located in Ayudhya and other cities of Thailand. The Pran Pratistha ceremony will be telecast live on January 22. Lamps will be lit in all the temples and people will praise Ram by singing bhajans during the day. Prasad will also be distributed among the devotees.

‘Ramkien’ is the Thai version of Ramayana.

President Vigyanand said that what makes Ayudhya very special is that here we can see ‘Ramkien’, the Thai version of Ramayana. The Ramayana was spread by followers of Buddhism in Southeast Asia. This happened during the Ayudhya Kingdom. Thus we see the impact of Rama’s life on Thai culture.
