According to this research report, the gestation period of 40 weeks has now reduced to 37 weeks in America. Rate of premature birth increased by 12 percent
If compared to the year 2014, the birth rate of premature babies has increased by 12 percent between 2014 and 2022. Because of this, both the child and the mother are facing physical problems, both are falling ill. A premature new born baby is facing infection, respiratory and stomach problems. According to the report, the rate of giving birth to premature babies is higher among black and Hispanic women than white women. At the same time, the childbearing period of women who are older has reduced.
These figures related to the birth of children say a lot
If we look at the reports of recent years, according to the Washington Institute for Health Matrix and Evaluation, the birth rate in the age group of 15 to 19 has decreased by 8% in a year. It has been continuously decreasing since 1991. At the same time, the birth rate has decreased by 8% among Asian-American women, 3% among Hispanic women and 6% among white women. Whereas cesarean delivery has increased by 32%. Last year, about 36 lakh children were born in America. In 2019 it was around 38 lakhs. In 2007 this figure was around 43 lakhs.
China and North Korea have different problems
While on one hand babies are being born three weeks prematurely in America, on the other hand China and North Korea are facing different problems. The governments here are in tension over the low number of children being born. Chinese President Xi Jinping himself has told the public to marry and have more children. North Korea’s ruler Kim Jong had tears in his eyes over the low birth rate.
