Nepal India: India and Nepal are practicing war together. This war exercise has started in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. This war exercise will end on 7 December. According to the information, the 17th edition of joint military exercise ‘Surya Kiran’ between India and Nepal started on Friday in Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that this year’s annual exercise, to be organized alternately in both the countries, will end on December 7.
War exercises will continue for two weeks
The ministry said that the two-week long exercise aims to enhance mutual interaction in humanitarian assistance and disaster relief under the United Nations Charter on jungle warfare, counter-terrorism operations in mountainous areas and peacekeeping operations. It will provide a platform for troops of India and Nepal to exchange ideas and experiences, share best practices and promote deeper understanding of each other’s operational processes, the statement said.
Kumaon Regiment representing the Indian Army
The Indian Army is being represented by a battalion of 354 personnel from the Kumaon Regiment, while the Nepal Army contingent includes 334 personnel from the Tara Dal battalion. It said that the exercise will enhance the operational capabilities and combat skills of the soldiers and strengthen their coordination abilities in challenging situations. “Exercise Surya Kiran symbolizes the strong bond of friendship, trust and cultural ties that exist between India and Nepal,” the statement said. The objective of this exercise is to achieve common security objectives and boost bilateral relations between the two friendly neighbours.
