The blast that took place near the Israeli Embassy in New Delhi on Tuesday night has now become a matter of concern for the Delhi Police. Till now the police has not been able to get any concrete information about the suspects. Therefore, now Delhi Police will investigate the phone calls received on active mobile numbers near the Israel Embassy in this regard. Police sources gave this information. Police have stepped up investigation into the case and have identified two men seen on camera roaming on a road near the site of the blast shortly before the blast.
A senior police officer, who did not wish to be named, said, “Investigating the call is a difficult task, but using special investigative techniques and tracing nearby numbers, we will be able to know who was present in and around the area where the call occurred.” A low intensity explosion occurred. Police said several different social media applications needed to be investigated and the companies concerned would be contacted. On Wednesday, a team of senior police officers visited the area around Parliament to find out if there is any connection between the recent security lapse in the Lok Sabha and the blast.
Security increased in Delhi
Delhi Police has beefed up security in the national capital and deployed additional security forces near the border areas to maintain law and order in view of the two incidents and New Year celebrations. “The areas around the Israel Embassy and Jewish establishments in Delhi are under tight security cover. Local police have been asked to increase surveillance in the national capital,” an official said. According to the police, they have started monitoring several CCTV footages of the area. Police said they are investigating the case from every angle. A senior police officer said, “Special teams are checking the registration numbers of all the vehicles that passed at the time of the blast and before the blast. We will identify the vehicles soon.” Officials said there were no casualties in the blast, but A letter addressed to the Israeli ambassador was found near the spot. (Language)
