Former Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and former chief of intelligence agency Inter Service Intelligence (ISI) Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed are in new trouble. Both of them are facing the threat of being punished in a case. In fact, a top court of Pakistan has approved the hearing of a petition against General Qamar Bajwa and Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed and has fixed the date of November 28 for it.

General Bajwa and Lieutenant Faiz Hameed have been accused of violating laws related to retired soldiers by distorting facts during media interviews. A person named Atif Ali had filed this petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) against Bajwa and Hameed. Ali has also named journalists Javed Chaudhary and Shahid Maitla in the petition, who had met him and published the details of the conversation. According to the list of cases released by the IHC for hearing next week, the hearing of the case of former military officers has been fixed for Tuesday.

Allegation of conspiracy to remove former PM Imran Khan from power

Earlier this year, the former army chief had reportedly given an interview to two journalists. During this, he also talked about removing former Prime Minister Imran Khan from power. Civil-military relations and other matters were also discussed. After this, journalists wrote articles and talked to TV channels. Bajwa retired last year after serving two terms as army chief and was replaced by General Asim Munir. Due to his negligence in the selection of Bajwa’s successor, Faiz had taken premature retirement.
