Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan is now stuck in a new trouble. Approval has been given to conduct another case against Imran Khan, who is already serving jail in the Toshakhana case. This may increase their problems further. Let us tell you that after the decision of the special court to conduct the trial in jail due to security reasons, the Cabinet of Pakistan on Thursday approved the trial of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in the ‘Sifar’ case in jail itself. A special court of Pakistan had decided to continue the trial against former Prime Minister Khan in jail in the case of leaking confidential documents.

Geo News, quoting officials, said in its report that following the court order, a report on the jail trial was presented by the Ministry of Law and Justice and approved by the Cabinet. Khan (71), chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been lodged in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail since September 26, where till last week, the trial against him was going on in the high security jail itself. The Islamabad High Court had last week ruled against the proceedings, terming them unfair. Special Court Judge Abual Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the Cipher case on Tuesday at the ‘Federal Judicial Complex’ in Islamabad.

Along with Imran, former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is also an accused in the cipher case.

Due to security reasons, the authorities did not present Khan for hearing. According to the report presented in the court by the authorities, “It has been reported that the PTI Chairman faces a serious level of security risk.” After hearing the case, the special court has posted the case against the two in jail in the next hearing. Was given permission to run in the court. The next hearing of the case will be on December 1. Former Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi is also an accused in the cipher case. The hearing in the case began on 15 August and Khan and Qureshi were convicted on 23 October. Khan was arrested in March last year for violating the Official Secrets Act by leaking a cipher (diplomatic cable) sent by the country’s embassy in Washington. (Language)
