General elections will be held in Pakistan on February 8 without Imran, so many crore voters will cast their votes – India TV Hindi

Islamabad: Preparations for the general elections to be held in Pakistan on February 8 have been completed. This election will be held without former Prime Minister Imran Khan. Imran Khan, who has been sentenced to 14 years in jail in various cases, is in jail and the court has made him ineligible for any constitutional post for the next 10 years. In such a situation, Imran Khan, who dreamed of becoming the Prime Minister of Pakistan again, has become just a prisoner. Pakistani officials have said that they have completed all preparations to hold general elections on February 8.

This also includes the printing of more than 26 crore ballot papers for the elections to all constituencies of the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies. According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), there are more than 12 crore registered voters for the National Assembly and four provincial assemblies and 90,675 polling stations have been set up across the country, including 41,403 joint polling stations. There are 25,320 polling stations for men and 23,952 polling stations for women voters. A total of about 18,000 candidates are in the race for the National Assembly and four provincial assemblies.

Elections will be held in these 4 provinces along with the National Assembly.

The four provincial assemblies where elections will be held include Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. There are a total of 336 seats in the National Assembly (NA) which includes 266 seats in the general category, 10 seats in the non-Muslim category and 60 seats in the women quota. ECP Director of General Political Finance Masood Akhtar Sherwani said on Friday that the printing of ballot papers has been completed, The Express Tribune reported. “The printing of ballot papers started on January 14 and has ended today,” he said, adding that the total number of candidates in the 2024 election increased by 54.74 per cent compared to the 2018 figures, adding 194.75 per cent to the requirement of special papers. Percentage has increased. He also said that ballot papers have also been successfully delivered to constituencies in the restive Balochistan province. (Language)
