India will buy E5 series bullet trains with Japan. It is expected that this deal can be finalized by the end of March. With this deal, the possibility of starting the first bullet train in Gujarat by 2026 will increase. Sources said that National High Speed ​​Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) will bid for the purchase of trains and operating systems by August 15 this year.
The journey between Ahmedabad and Mumbai will take just this much time.
According to media reports, when the bullet train will run in the 508 km long bullet train corridor being built between Ahmedabad and Mumbai, the time will take only 2 hours 45 minutes. Officials said a total of 40 percent work on the project had been completed by January. About 48 percent work has progressed in Gujarat, whereas only 22 percent work has been done in Maharashtra.
Accusation of delay in work on previous government of Maharashtra
According to media reports, a Railway Ministry official said that in recent months, there has been a lot of progress in the work going on in Maharashtra. The administration has directed all the district collectors to complete the work of handing over the land by the end of this month. Recently, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had blamed the then Uddhav Thackeray government of Maharashtra for the slow pace of the Bullet Train project.
