India has launched its second most dangerous missile destroyer in the Gulf of Aden. This has created panic in the houses of enemies like China and Pakistan. India has taken this step after the hijacking of a Malta-flagged cargo ship by pirates. The Indian Navy has deployed a second ship in the Gulf of Aden to enhance its anti-piracy mission. Officials said the Navy now has guided missile destroyers ‘INS Kochi’ and ‘INS Kolkata’ in the region. Both of these are enough to wreak havoc in any enemy’s house.

Let us tell you that on December 14, the Navy had immediately responded after receiving a request for help from the hijacked Malta-flagged ship MV Rouen. A few days later, the vessel was evacuated offshore Somalia to provide medical care to a crew member injured by pirates. There were 18 crew members on board. “Indian Naval Maritime Patrol Vessel, deployed for quick response to investigate the incident, searched for the ship MV Rouen on 15 December and established contact with the crew,” a Navy spokesperson said. He said, “During this time, all the 18-member crew (there were no Indians on board the MV) were reported safe in that area. Also, in response to this incident, INS Kochi, deployed for anti-piracy patrol in the Gulf of Aden, was also immediately dispatched to provide assistance.

India had immediately helped Malta

“Following the hijacking of the Malta ship, INS Kochi attempted to intercept MV Rouen in the early hours of 16th December and sent one of its vital helicopters to assess the situation.” “Information was received from the crew that the internal systems on board the MV Rouen had been damaged and all crew members had been taken hostage by pirates,” the spokesperson said. A crew member was injured during the incident, but his condition is said to be stable.” “However, there was no armed intervention to ensure the safety of the crew on board the hijacked MV and appropriate action was taken by the warship in an effort to ensure fair treatment of the crew by the pirates,” he said. .

Dacoits scared in Gulf of Aden

“The Indian Naval ship kept close to the hijacked ship during its transit to Somalia from 16 to 17 December,” the spokesperson said. “During this period, appropriate action was taken against pirates and coordination of activities with other warships.” “In view of the above incident and to enhance efforts to prevent piracy in the Gulf of Aden area, the Indian Navy has deployed another indigenous guided missile destroyer in the area,” he said. “The Indian Navy, as the ‘first responder’ in the region, is committed to ensuring the safety of merchant shipping and providing all possible assistance to seafarers at sea,” he said.
