Due to the conflict in West Asia, frequent attacks on commercial ships in the Indian Ocean and Red Sea have devastated maritime security. Business has also been badly affected by this. Therefore, a top Indian diplomat told members of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Tuesday that the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in West Asia is affecting maritime commercial traffic security in the Indian Ocean, including attacks on ships belonging to India. Some attacks that took place are also included.

India’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations R. “The ongoing conflict (in West Asia) is also impacting the security of maritime commercial traffic in the Indian Ocean, including some attacks on ships belonging to India,” Ravindra said in his remarks during an open debate at the UNSC. Ravindra said, “This is a matter of great concern for the international community and has a direct impact on India’s energy and economic interests.” This dire situation will not benefit either side and must be clearly understood.” Ravindra said the message India has given since the beginning of this conflict has been clear and consistent in ensuring the continued supply of humanitarian aid. It is important that the conflict does not escalate.

India has so far given humanitarian aid worth 5 million US dollars to Palestine.

Ravindra said, “India firmly believes that only the two-state solution is the last option and will provide the lasting peace that the people of Israel and Palestine desire and deserve. To this end, we urge all parties to de-escalate tensions, refrain from violence, avoid provocative and tension-escalating actions, and work towards creating conditions for the resumption of direct peace talks as soon as possible.
