Jerusalem: Iran has made the world realize its power by launching 3 satellites simultaneously for the second time in the last 15 days. Western countries have condemned Iran’s continued satellite launches. Iran said on Sunday that it has successfully launched three satellites into space. At the same time, Western countries criticized this recent program of Iran and expressed fear that this will further increase Iran’s ballistic missile programs. The launch also saw the successful use of Iran’s Simorgh rocket, which had failed several times before, state news agency IRNA said. But this time it was completely successful. Just a week ago, Iran had launched a satellite.

This launch by Iran has come at a time when tension has increased in West Asia due to Israel’s continued war on Hamas in the Gaza Strip. Iran has not intervened militarily in the conflict, but has faced pressure from its religious leaders to take action after an Islamic State suicide bombing earlier this month and war-related attacks by proxy groups such as Yemen’s Houthi rebels. . Footage released by Iran’s state television shows the launch of a Simorgh rocket during the night.

Danger of Iran making ballistic missiles

The Associated Press (AP) analyzed details of the footage which showed that the launch took place at the Imam Khomeini Spaceport in Iran’s rural Semnan province. State TV named the launched satellites as Mahda, Keyhan-2 and Hatf-1. According to state television, Mahda is a research satellite, while Kayhan and Hatf are nanosatellites focused on global positioning and communications, respectively. The US had earlier said Iran’s satellite launches violate UN Security Council resolutions and called on it not to take any activities related to ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.

UN sanctions related to Iran’s ballistic missile program expired last October. The US intelligence community’s 2023 Worldwide Threat Assessment states that the development of satellite launch vehicles would enable Iran to develop intercontinental ballistic missiles in a shorter period of time, as it uses similar technology.
