Gunmen enter Ecuador’s TV studio.
There was a stir in a TV studio in Ecuador when some gunmen entered during a live show and took people at gunpoint. This created a stir in the studio. The incident happened on Tuesday. During this time a program was being broadcast live. Then masked miscreants entered the set of a news channel with guns and explosives. In the video footage, several gunmen are seen, who have taken the employees working in the news channel at gunpoint and many employees are lying on the ground in a surrender posture out of fear.
However, it was fortunate that the gunmen did not open fire in the studio. But during this time he threatened the employees present there. Due to this they all surrendered and sat or lay down on the ground. Ecuador’s national police chief said all the gunmen had been arrested. Police Commander Cesar Zapata told TV channel Teleamazonas that authorities had seized guns and explosives from the masked criminals. However, he did not say how many people have been arrested.
The reason for the incident is not known
The police are yet to know the reason for this incident. The captured gunmen are being interrogated. Zapata said, “This should be considered a terrorist incident.” Meanwhile, an order has been issued by President Daniel Noboa saying that an ‘internal armed conflict’ is going on in the South American country.
