Pakistan News: Pakistan’s newly elected President Asif Ali Zardari has announced that he will not take his salary. President Zardari has taken this decision in view of the poor condition of his country. However, not taking their salary cannot save Pakistan from economic crisis. Pakistan is deeply burdened with debt. In such a situation, newly elected President Zardari has announced that he will not take any salary during his presidency in view of the challenging economic conditions in the impoverished country. 68-year-old Zardari was recently sworn in as the 14th President on Sunday. Zardari’s party PPP wrote on ‘X’ that the President has decided to encourage prudent financial management and not burden the national revenue.

What did the President’s Office of Pakistan say?

The President’s Secretariat Press Wing said that the President has decided not to take the salary considering the need not to burden the national Zardari revenue. Former President Arif Alvi received a salary of Rs 8,46,550 per month, which was decided by the Parliament in 2018.

Let us tell you that Asif Ali Zardari is one of the richest leaders of Pakistan. His son Bilawal Bhutto had been the Foreign Minister in the previous Shahbaz government. His wife Benazir Bhutto has also been the Prime Minister of Pakistan. Benazir was assassinated several years ago during an election rally.

Even Pakistani Home Minister will not take salary

Zardari, co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was sworn in as the country’s president for the second time on Sunday in a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad. Apart from this, following in the footsteps of Zardari, Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi has also decided not to take salary citing economic challenges facing the country.
