PM Modi said on Israel-Hamas war – “This is the time for Global South countries”, also condemned the death of civilians in Gaza.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the second Voice of the Global South Summit, PM Modi reiterated India’s unwavering stand against violence and terrorism. He condemned the civilian deaths in the Israel-Hamas war and stressed the urgent need for unity and cooperation among the global South in the face of growing challenges in West Asia caused by the conflict. He again condemned the attack on Israel by Hamas on 7 October. Also underlined the importance of exercising restraint and giving priority to dialogue as the cornerstone of conflict resolution. During this, PM Modi said that this is the time for the Global South to unite.

PM Modi said, “We are all seeing that new challenges are emerging from the events in the West Asia region. India has condemned the terrorist attack in Israel on October 7. At the same time, we have also exercised restraint. We have emphasized on dialogue and diplomacy. We also strongly condemn the civilian deaths in the conflict between Israel and Hamas. “After speaking with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, we have also sent humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people.

Time for the Global South to unite

PM Modi said that this is the time when the countries of the Global South should unite for the larger global good. Let us tell you that the Global South refers to a group of countries, mainly located in the Southern Hemisphere in Asia, Africa and South America, where there are different levels of economic development. Although the characteristics of these countries are not similar, they often struggle with common challenges such as poverty, inequality and limited access to resources.

More than 11 thousand deaths have occurred in Gaza so far

It is noteworthy that on October 7, more than 1,200 Israelis were killed in a sensational land-sea-air attack on Israel by the Palestinian group Hamas. In retaliation, Israel has continued air strikes on the Gaza Strip, the stronghold of Hamas. Now ground action has also been started. More than 11,000 people have been killed in Gaza so far in Israeli military action. A large number of them are ordinary citizens. The Prime Minister has condemned the death of civilians.
