President Vladimir Putin won a record victory in Russia’s election on Sunday, once again solidifying his grip on power, even as thousands of opponents staged afternoon protests at polling stations and the United States over the election in Russia. Said that neither voting was free nor fair in Russia.

According to an exit poll by pollster Public Opinion Foundation (FOM), Putin won 87.8% of the vote, the largest result in Russia’s post-Soviet history. The Russian Public Opinion Research Center (VCIOM) puts Putin at 87%. The first official results indicated that the polls were accurate.
America accused
A White House National Security Council spokesman said, “The elections are clearly not free or fair, as Putin has jailed political opponents and prevented others from running against him.” Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine. The election comes just two years after he launched the deadliest European conflict since World War II in what he described as a “special military operation.”
The sword of war has hung over the three-day elections. Ukraine has repeatedly attacked oil refineries in Russia, shelled Russian territories and tried to penetrate Russian borders with proxy forces – moves Putin said would not be taken.
