India has been continuously opposing this project. Despite India’s opposition, Shahbaz wants to work on the second phase of this project. Pakistan calls devious China its ‘Iron Brother’. Such steps by Pakistan can improve relations between India and neighboring country Pakistan.
Know what Shahbaz Sharif said on CPEC?
After Shehbaz Sharif discussed the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in his maiden parliamentary speech, Shehbaz appealed to further strengthen bilateral relations with China. Shahbaz called China ‘Iron Brother’. Apart from this, he said that both the countries should continue cooperation despite difficulties and move towards the second phase of CPEC project. He said these things in a discussion with China’s government agency Xinhua at the PM office in Islamabad. On completion of 73 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China, Shahbaz said that the leaders of Pakistan and China have continuously enhanced bilateral friendship.
CPEC project passes through PoK
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is ready to work with China for the second phase of CPEC. Shahbaz talked about increasing technology and agriculture through this corridor. However, his move is directly anti-India. Because CPEC passes through POK, which is part of India. India has always been protesting about this.
