According to the report, the commissioner tendered his resignation saying that he had done injustice to the people of Rawalpindi division. He admitted that there was “rigging” in the Rawalpindi division and he was responsible for it. “We turned the losers into winners by a margin of 50,000 votes,” he claimed and surrendered himself before the police.

Acting Information Minister denied the allegations
