US: Muslim students at the University of Connecticut in America have received violent threats amid the Israel-Gaza war. After which the Muslim students of the university are demanding security.
According to BBC report, at a press conference on Thursday, a former leader of a pro-Palestine campus group claimed that he had received an audio mail, which he also played to everyone. This audio clip included racial abuses. The university’s Muslim Students Union said it had also received an email mocking the dead Palestinians. The threats have been reported to state police and the FBI.

Students reported that the call came from an Oklahoma area code, and the threatening email came from a Yahoo email domain. Muslim student leaders and the Muslim civil rights group Council on American-Islamic Relations (CARE) called on the university to provide safety assurances for Muslim students. A University of Connecticut spokesperson said: “Our campus unequivocally condemns Islamophobia, along with all forms of hatred.” After the Israel-Hamas war, there has been an increase in incidents of hatred and harassment in America.
No student should feel threatened
Connecticut President Farhan Memon said, “No young person seeking an education should feel threatened because of their race, religion, background or political views.” At the same time, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont said last week that he is organizing a meeting of university security officials to deal with hate crimes on college campuses across the state.
War continues between Israel and Hamas since October 7
It is noteworthy that it has been more than a month since the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, although it is not showing any sign of stopping. In fact, on October 7 last month, Hamas fighters suddenly attacked Israeli territory, in which about 1400 people were killed. Along with this, Hamas has taken more than two hundred people hostage. Since then, Israel has been taking military action by entering the Gaza Strip and so far more than ten thousand Palestinians have been killed in this conflict.
