India 75th Republic Day: Every year on 26 January India celebrates its Republic Day. This year the country will celebrate its 75th Republic Day. On this special occasion, every year a grand parade is organized on Rajpath from India Gate to Rashtrapati Bhavan. Different regiments of Indian Army, Air Force, Navy etc. participate in the parade. But do you know why this day is celebrated only on 26 January.
Actually, the Constitution of India came into force on 26 January 1950. After the independence of the country, the Constituent Assembly adopted the Constitution on 26 November 1949. Whereas on 26 January 1950, the Constitution was implemented with the democratic government system. On this day the country was fully declared a republic. Some reason behind implementing the Constitution on 26th January is that on this day in the year 1930, the complete independence of India was announced by the Indian National Congress. In the year 1929, a meeting was organized through the Indian National Congress under the chairmanship of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar played an important role in the Constitution of India. He is also known as the architect of the Indian Constitution. After many reforms and changes, 308 members of the committee signed two copies of the hand-written law on 24 January 1950. Only two days later, on January 26, the Constitution was implemented. Only after the implementation of the Constitution, the pre-existing British law was converted into the Indian governing document through the Indian Constitution. For this reason, every year 26 January is celebrated as Republic Day.
