New Delhi : All political parties have started preparing for the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, a two-day national convention of BJP is starting from today in the capital Delhi. About 11,500 delegates from across the country will participate in the two-day national convention of BJP to be held at Bharat Mandapam located at Pragati Maidan. Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said the delegates will include party officials, current and former MPs, MLAs and elected mayors from across the country. He said it would have a broad organizational agenda.
The session will end tomorrow with PM Modi’s speech
Ravi Shankar Prasad said, “Congress and the Left make various kinds of comments but BJP is the only party which does maximum organizational work in a democratic manner, be it the party’s national convention, national executive or other programs in states and districts.” Prasad said BJP national president JP Nadda will deliver the inaugural address at the National Council meeting on Saturday and the meeting will conclude with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address the next day. . He said the council meetings were held just before the general elections of 2014 and 2019. Prasad said the BJP had won majority in the Lok Sabha in 2014 and achieved an even bigger victory five years later.
Target to win 370 Lok Sabha seats
The former Union Minister said that Modi had also expressed his views in the last two council meetings and now he has set a target of winning 370 Lok Sabha seats for the party while the ruling alliance has set a target of winning more than 400 seats out of 543. He said, “A comprehensive organizational agenda has been prepared for the meeting.” The BJP leader said, “There will be a meeting of party officials on Saturday and flag hoisting will take place at 3 pm.” Prasad said that the meeting will discuss the upcoming elections. Detailed discussion will be done. He said that an exhibition on the theme ‘Concept of Developed India’ will also be set up at the meeting venue for the delegates. Prasad said, “Normally we hold a big national convention before the Lok Sabha elections. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech in our national convention has been very inspiring.
